Warming up for Presidential Bid, South Carolina Alvin Greene gets 37 votes in State House race

Three months after losing his improbable campaign for U.S. Senate, Alvin Greene got trounced as he ran for a seat in the South Carolina House.
Greene picked up a mere 36 votes, or less than 1 percent of the ballots cast, in unofficial results from Tuesday’s Democratic primary for the seat anchored by his hometown of Manning.

The 33-year-old is Still an unemployed Army veteran used the same strategy that helped him pick up 59 percent of the vote in his stunning U.S. Senate Democratic primary win last June.

Greene appeared to have no yard signs and the other three candidates say they haven’t seen him out much shaking hands or giving speeches. Greene also missed a debate last month.

Alvin Greene said he had no comment after finding out the results at his home.
