SC Remains “First in The South” Presidential Primary
The Republican National Committee has approved a 2012 presidential primary calendar that preserves South Carolina's "first in line" position. The plan allows only Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada to hold their contests in February. South Carolina will retain its position as being first in the south to vote in the presidential primary. During the RNC meeting in Kansas City, Chairman Karen Floyd and the South Carolina delegation worked with the delegations of other early states to ensure no changes were made to adversely impact South Carolina's role in the presidential nomination process. New York’s 23rd Congressional District has become the site of a showdown between RINOs (Republicans In Name Only) and conservatives. The conservatives are winning — but the RINOs are not being gracious in defeat. Now the RINOs are showing how much party unity means to them. They have no loyalty to conservatives, so why should conservatives have any loyalty to them? The latest showdown came when ultra-liberal State Assemblywoman Dede Scozzafava became the Republican candidate in NY-23.
