Via albertacowpoke Sarah Palin continues to be the most controversial and scrutinized public figure in the United States. In a highly unusual move, approximately 25,000 pages of Sarah Palin's e-mails from her time as Governor of Alaska, starting at inauguration in 2006 until she was chosen as John McCain's Vice Presidential running mate have been released. Palin has been a controversial figure since she first appeared on the national scene. This was partly due to her being a "practical unknown" in the lower 48 and partly because she is a conservative woman. Herman Cain: Iowa is critical to the presidential selection process
Retired businessman Herman Cain stressed his Iowa efforts today, in the wake of criticism from Republicans here about other presidential candidates skipping Iowa in their campaigns. “I now understand why and how Iowa is so critical to this whole process,” Cain said. “This is where the vetting process really starts and it’s been good. It’s been great.” Cain, who is on his 19th visit here, promised the audience of more than 140 that this won’t be his last visit here. Poll: Gingrich and Romney neck and neck in Florida
A new automated poll by the Republican consulting firm Sunshine State Communications (Buzz Jacobs and Douglas Brown) shows a dead heat between Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney. It was conducted May 11-13 (MoE +/- 3.73%) before Mike Huckabee took his name out of the mix. Undecided or Other was in the lead with nearly one in three votes.
