More Votes to extend Bush Tax Cuts then when it was first passed 277 to 148, Goes to Obama for Signature

After weeks of political posturing, more Democrats  ended up voting to extend the Bush Tax Cuts than did Republicans.   The provision extends the current tax rates for two years.  The Measure also included an extension of unemployment benefits as unemployment remains at a high 9.8 percent.  Democrats already have their talking points loaded and ready to go, “Republicans held us hostage and used blackmail“.  Democrats rhetoric sounds more each day like the terrorists they are fighting are not members of  al-qaeda but rather those in the Republican Party. A tax-cut compromise between President Barack Obama and congressional Republicans – a harbinger of a new era of divided government in Washington – cleared the House around midnight Thursday, sending [...]

Eric Cantor Calls for Direct Appeal to Supreme Court on Obamcare Mandate | Politisite

“Today’s ruling is a clear affirmation that President Obama’s health care law is unconstitutional. The efforts of Governor McDonnell and Attorney General Cuccinelli have raised legitimate concerns and ensured that the people of the Commonwealth will have their rights protected against this unconstitutional law. Ultimately, we must ensure that no American will be forced by the federal government to purchase health insurance they may not need, want, or be able to afford. “To ensure an expedited process moving forward, I call on President Obama and Attorney General Holder to join Attorney General Cuccinelli in requesting that this case be sent directly to the U.S. Supreme Court. In this challenging environment, we must not burden our states, employers, and families with [...]

Funny: South Carolina Alvin Greene to Consider 2012 Run for President | Politisite

From Cory Hutchins The Free Times It didn’t take long after Alvin Greene lost his U.S. Senate bid to Jim DeMint of South Carolina for the trial balloon of a possible Greene presidential run to create balloon-boy-style headlines throughout the national media. Alvin Greene is back on the scene. According to the unemployed former Democratic U.S. Senate candidate, who took in about 365,000 votes in the Nov. 2 elections, the media are not over-blowing this new possible presidential story line. “I’m seriously considering ,” Greene tells Free Times Nov. 10, from his home in the small South Carolina town of Manning, adding that he’s looking specifically at 2012. “I’m thinking about it. I don’t know which party I’ll run in as a candidate,” he says. “I’m [...]

Black GOP Candidates Poised to Score Historic Election Victory

In an earlier story we had mentioned that there were 32 African-Americans running under the Republican Banner during the 2010 Primary.Although Most of the News has been about Florida’s Allen West and South Carolina’s Tim Scott, there are 12 other black GOP candidates looking to make history in this year’s midterms. Despite being called a racist group from the left, many of these candidates were enforced by the local Tea Party Charlotte Bergmann, Tenn.-9 — Democratic Rep. Steve Cohen is in such a safe district that Bergmann’s campaign slogan is “Charlotte Bergmann Can Win.” She has been demanding that Cohen debate her, but so far he’s turned a cold shoulder to those entreaties, apparently sensing his best chance of surviving a wave election is to ignore her [...]
